Players you wish hadn't left
With Payet soon on his way, who of our players were most missed after they transferred to other clubs? (Ignoring the circumstances of their falling out with the club, and taking into account the careers they subsequently had). I'll start with Frank Lampard jnr.

Someone should sort out this getting old business - it's cost us so many players down the years

Seeing players leave or being sold. Is really part of the course. It wouldn't be. Being a West Ham fan. So after 35 years. I've kind of gotten numb to it. But only one I wished we had kept was Glen Johnson.

I remember going up to Edinburgh when he had signed for Celtic.I boasted to a Celtic fan that he'll be back at West Ham soon enough. He wasn't best pleased,I kept bumping into him and reminding him of the fact. Eventually he tried throwing his beer over me,missing me. Must of hurt to do that...

Re: Players you wish hadn't left
To be fair to Chigwell's OP, Ashton didn't leave for another club. Others did, but weren't particularly more "successful". Plenty were though, it's hard not to be. There's 100s.

I'm not going to state the bloody obvious.

RELATED. Joe Cole is on Talksport now, soon to talk about "current situation at West Ham". If anyone cares.

I was always miffed we didn't sign porfirio - he was great!

I could also never understand why Harry didn't play Michael Hughes more - I was annoyed when he left

Otherwise the big ones for me, not counting those whom jumped ship after relegation, were bilic, then unsworth (stupid wife) and Rio. Every time it looked like we were building a good team it got dismantled
